Our Curriculum
The scripture tells us to . . .
“Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it.” – Proverbs 22:6

The Apostolic Worship Child Development is a faith-based preschool and is committed to excellence in our learning. We are here to provide a wide range of learning opportunities. We utilize the following curriculums: HighReach Learning, WEE Learn Curriculum, and parts of ABeka through books, stories, and activities which our instructors find rewarding; Self Control, Honesty/Integrity, Friendship and Positive Self-Esteem just to name a few.

Because children need an environment rich in choices and experience, we offer a variety of activities such as Dramatic Play, Art, Music, & Movement, Reading, Sand/Water, Blocks. The outdoor learning environment provides children with large muscle activities, large and small group participation as well as independent play.

Our Philosophy

The Apostolic Worship Child Development & Vision Academy believe that your child is uniquely and wonderfully created. From the time your child enters our center, we’ll provide a place that will nurture that whole person. The atmosphere is filled with love, learning, joy and happiness.

During their time here we will key in on the stages of development for

VPK: skills areas are important developmental milestones in the child’s readiness to read & write. We will work on Gross/Fine Motor, Language, Social, Cognitive, Emotional, and Auditory Perception & Discrimination, and Visual Perception.

 Parent Involvement

We understand that your lives are fast pace. However, parental involvement is encouraged at AWCD. What kids really want is your time more than anything else. Here are some ways you can get involved: reading books to your child, eating lunch with them or assisting your child’s teacher with different activities. See the center director to get involved today.

 Staff Quality

Our staff members are qualified, caring individuals that have a passion to see your child succeed.  All staff members are of good character and have proper screening and certification. All staff have certification in CPR and first aid.

AWCD believes that uniforms plays an important role. Uniforms encourage a sense of school identity & cohesion & also help to raise the standards of the school’s academic & cultural pursuits. Our students are expected to express themselves through their good attitudes & behavior, keen minds & willing hearts. Uniforms are mandated for all except before/after-school students.

 Enrichment Programs

Some of our enrichment programs include music, chapel, financial literacy, The Literacy Loft (Family Reading Nights), Math Studio (Family Math Nights), and Dance.

Chapel – We have chapel on Friday mornings which is provided for all the children from toddlers to second grade. The Bible stories build character in your child’s heart. However, doctrine is not a part of our curriculum, and we accept all faiths into our program.

We provide hot meals daily: breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack (USDA Food Program).
